Young golfing talents tee off in Northern Junior Golf Tour at Richmond GC

Some of the most talented young golfers in the north of England teed off at Richmond Golf Club on Saturday, May 29, when the Northern Junior Golf Tour visited the course.

More than 45 young golfers played in the latest event in the series, which also visits Ripon City Golf Club, Malton & Norton Golf Club, Hunley Hall Golf Club, Saltburn Golf Club and Teesside Golf Club in the series.

Split into seven different divisions, depending on handicap, the youngsters competed for gross and nett prizes on a bright sunny day at Richmond GC.

The young talents came from as far afield as York, Leeds and Selby.

Winners of the prizes were:

Division 1: Gross – William Hixon (Ripon City), Nett – George Coope (Cottingham Parks)

Division 2: Gross – Jack Harrison (Blackwell Grange), Nett – Jack Harrison (Blackwell Grange)

Division 3: Gross – Clarke Boddy (Hunley Hall), Nett – Sebastian Knowles (Thirsk and Northallerton)

Division 4: Gross – Mary Macnamara (Blackwell Grange), Nett – Mary Macnamara (Blackwell Grange)

Division 5: Gross – Joshua Grant, Nett – Joshua Grant

Division 6: Gross – Jaicob Saunders (Bedale), Nett – Harry Best (Garforth)

Division 7: Gross – Molly Gibbs (Middlesbrough), Nett – Molly Gibbs (Middlesbrough)
