We are hearing a lot of speculation about when the course will reopen and members will be allowed to play golf once more. Whilst this is understandable it is not very helpful as it stokes expectation.

When there is accurate information, the Board will formally notify members about what action RGC will take.

To be clear, the course remains closed until the Board formally open it irrespective of what the Prime Minister may/may not say on Sunday.

Depending upon what the PM says, you can expect communication from the Board on Sunday evening or Monday morning.

Whenever there is some relaxation in the rules that allows some golf to be played, RGC will return in an orderly and structured manner. There are likely to be restrictions in place such as who can play the course, number and timings of tee times/players, arrival and departure requirements and instruction regarding following the sanitisation and social distancing rules laid out by the Board. 

These will also be communicated once we know more about when some form of golf is allowed.
