Richmond Golf Club is showcased in England Golf’s “Club in Focus” video

Richmond Golf Club has been showcased in this month’s Club in Focus from England Golf with the club starring in a national promotional campaign.

Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club has been selected to feature in England Golf’s national ‘Club in Focus’ campaign.

The series spotlights those golf clubs that drive success in specific areas of the game, showing golf is more than a game.

Richmond is the fourth video of the series, and shows how the Club has created a happy and loyal membership base.

The video, shot at the Club on Saturday 25th March, involved interviews with the Chairman, Directors, Head Professional and Members of the Golf Club and demonstrated how the Club’s work with England Golf had significantly improved membership recruitment and retention.

Mick Campbell, Chairman, said: “We were delighted to be invited to take part in the ‘Club in Focus’ programme. Through the England Golf Give It A Shot Membership Campaign we have created a happy and loyal membership base, essential to the long-term sustainability of the club which has set the foundation for its future growth.”

Barbara Gregory, Charter Champion for Women-in-Golf added: “By engaging with England Golf’s Women-in-Golf Charter we have recruited a significant number of new lady members and we now have a sustainable model to attract more and more ladies to the Golf Club.”

Ian Mains, Membership Director stated: “The Membership Survey we undertook in 2022 gave us a clear understanding of what the members really wanted at the Club, and we have delivered to improve all aspects of the course and facilities.”

Aaron Cox, Head PGA Professional at Richmond said: “We have created an atmosphere, a culture where juniors, ladies and gents want to come and learn the game of golf and join this great Club.”

Captain Carl Appleby of the 1st Close Support Battalion, REME added: “As one of a number of military units that are Corporate Members of Richmond Golf Club, we’re delighted we can play when available and enjoy the great game of golf.”
