Richmond GC hosts championship competition for Yorkshire Veteran Ladies’ Golf Association

Richmond Golf Club was proud to host the Championship competition for the Yorkshire Veteran Ladies’ Golf Association (YVLGA).

The 3-day event took place from 26th to 28th April and produced some excellent golf.

Day 1 saw 64 ladies participating in the qualifying round, from which 16 went on to play in Day 2, and then down to 4 to compete in Day 3.

The final winner was Emma Brown from Malton & Norton Golf Club, narrowly beating Richmond’s own Karen Jobling.

Penny Holroyd, this year’s Captain of the YVLGA and also a Director and past Lady Captain at Richmond hosted the event and said: “We have seen some excellent golf played at Richmond during this annual competition, and congratulations to Emma and Karen, having played 5 rounds of golf in 3 days.

“Richmond Golf Course was in splendid condition and thanks go to our Greenkeepers for presenting it for the event.”
