RGC Captains Drive Off for 2023

Sunday 8th January witnessed the annual drive off for the new Captains for 2023 at Richmond Golf Club, a tradition which involves all of them driving down the first fairway.

This year the event was viewed by many of the Club Members, to cheer on their new Captains, and then all played round the course and joined the Captains for a welcome drink in the Clubhouse.

Albert Nowicki, Captain for 2023 announced that: “My charity for the year is to raise funds to further improve the facilities at the Golf Club, including provision of new tee board signage. I want to ensure that Members and Visitors alike have a great golfing experience at Richmond.”

Sue Stocks, Lady Captain for 2023, added: “My chosen charity this year is Marrick Priory Outdoor Centre. My aim, with the support of the Ladies Section, is to raise money to enable children, regardless of their family circumstances, to attend courses in the heart of beautiful Swaledale, where they can have fun and be challenged in a safe and nurturing environment.”

Both Captains aim to continue to grow and develop the Ladies, Gents and Junior sections of the Golf Club and to attract many visitors to this wonderful Golf Course.
