Fifty-six players enjoyed our excellent course in the Senior Mixed Open on Wednesday, April 21.

On Wednesday 5th May 2021, the Teesside Union Wednesday Night league resumes with Richmond competing in League Division 3.

The Spring Open was staged on Saturday, April 10 with some great scoring including 49 points for the winners.

The Ladies TriAm was the first open of the year held on Friday, April 9th.

Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club is determined to attract more young people into the sport and this starts with our junior section, which is thriving.

The Teesside Union Presidents Trophy (4bbb Stableford Competition) will be held at Richmond Golf Club on Friday 7th May 2021.

Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club, along with all other Golf Clubs in England, will welcome back members and visitors when reopening is allowed on Monday 29th March.

With golf courses in England due to reopen on Monday 29^th March, Richmond is well and truly ready to welcome all its members and visitors back to playing at their splendid facility.  With the Club having recently been accepted as a signatory to the R&A’s prestigious Women in Golf Charter, 2021 will see a significant drive to bring more and more women and girls into participation.  We asked Penny Holroyd, Ladies’ Captain at Richmond this year why she had come to live and play golf here in North Yorkshire and what she hoped for the sport in 2021.

The first couple of Teesside Union fixtures, a Mixed 4BBB and a Gents 4BBB, take place in April.

Richmond Golf Course, like all others in England, is preparing to reopen on Monday March 29^th after the lockdown closure and preparations are well in hand to welcome members and visitors back to the game they love. 

Martin Catt, this year’s Captain, is especially looking forward to the reopening since he’ll be celebrating 50 years since he first joined the Club in 1970, at the tender age of 13. Martin has already served as Captain in 1985and is delighted to be given the role again in 2021.

Following the Government’s Roadmap out of lockdown, we wanted to inform you of the plans here at Richmond Golf Club which of course assumes the roadmap stays on track.

Since Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club successfully applied to become a signatory of the R&As Women in Golf Charter, a Club Champion has been appointed. Barbara Gregory, Past Lady Captain and Member of the Board of Directors, was delighted to take on the role. 

Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club, club has achieved some great success recently in gaining a grant to help during the CV-19 pandemic, being awarded Women in Golf status and achieving SafeGolf accreditation, all through the governing body England Golf.

RGC is backing the drive to grow the game of golf and has achieved the SafeGolf club accreditation from England Golf, demonstrating commitment to safeguarding children and young people, as well as adults who may be at risk in the sport of golf.

Nobody will be surprised that we have had to cancel our Open event planned for January 30th as well as our February event.

As you will surely have heard, the whole country is entering a period of further lockdown effective immediately.

As you will all have probably heard by now, North Yorkshire has been put into Tier 3 for Covid-19 restrictions effective today (December 31) until further notice.

Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club, like every other Golf Club has had an unusual year in 2020, with the pandemic and associated lockdowns having an impact on activity both on the course and in the Clubhouse.
