New Head Professional – Aaron Cox

We’re delighted to announce that Aaron Cox has joined Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club as the new Head PGA Professional.

Aaron, an Australian PGA Professional, turned professional at 19 years of age and entered PGA Traineeship at Phillip Island Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia.

At the end of 2008 he took his first Head Professional role at the age of 26 at Caboolture Golf Club in Brisbane. After spending three years there he moved to Melbourne and became Head Professional at Gardiners Run Golf Course.

In January 2019, after spending some time in the south of England he moved to the north and started coaching at Blackwell Grange Golf Club.

During his time in Darlington he has built a successful junior academy under the name of ACED Academy (Aaron Cox Elite Development).

His ethos is to teach and guide any keen golfer who wants to improve their skills. This includes ladies groups and the Durham County Girls U14’s Squad. In 2022 Aaron was named England Golf Participation & Development Coach of the Year, a very prestigious award which reflects his skill as a great golfing coach.

Aaron said: “I look forward to meeting all players that call Richmond golf club home as well as new visitors to the club.

“I will always be available for lessons, club fittings and answering questions that members may have pertaining to golf.

“I also give members and players the opportunity to travel with their golf – offering coaching trips to Portugal, Spain and other areas of Europe.

“This has been very successful in my previous club and I run around 3 trips abroad each year.”

Aaron is looking forward to expanding his Academy at RGC, while maintaining his activity at Blackwell Grange
