We need your help and assistance please. A while ago the Board considered and made the decision to expand the use of the BRS system to include our existing bar card, bar, shop and competition scoring systems. Our reason was primarily to reduce costs and provide greater automation, leading to reduced management administration time.

The benefits also include:-

• Easy viewing (via the BRS Golf app or website) of your bar card (now called Wallet) and shop transactions/balances.
• Payment of competition fees on-line (via your Competition Purse – see below).
• Visibility of the 10% members discount on bar prices.
• On-line booking of the Swing Room.
• The ability for the Club to manage our new points system membership, which will in turn reduce the cost to the club and increase our income. Flexi Members will be able to buy further points via their FlexiWallet.

We will go live on 10 January 2024. All our staff and the directors will be available to provide guidance and help to ensure a smooth transition is achieved.

What we need from you, please is to: *

• Familiarise yourself with the guidance below asap.
• Download the BRS Golf app on your phone and/or save as a “favourite” on your desktop computer using the following link

• Download the BRS Scoring app (this is in addition to the BRS Golf app) on your phone. Once downloaded, you will now be able to access the BRS Scoring App through your BRS Golf App. Click on the orange Golf Events & H.I button and you will automatically be logged in to the BRS Scoring App. There is no need for an additional log-in. Within the BRS Scoring App you will be able to access your:
Handicap Index
Enter competition scores
Enter general play scores
View previous competition results

• Please ensure your personal details are updated within BRS.
• Add a bank card to BRS to enable membership payments and Wallet top ups (see below).

Membership Fee Payments*

Please read the attached document which provides guidance on the paying of membership fees going forward. You only need to take action when your membership comes up for renewal. January Renewal and Locker/buggy store members have recently received instructions.

Wallet

• Your Wallet (for bar and shop transactions including any prize money) can be found on your BRS app using the drop down menu on the top right hand corner within the Membership tab. Here you will have the ability to view your transactions. Note, current bar card balances will only be available on the live date.
• The wallet can be topped up via your bank card held within the BRS app or cash (via bar and shop staff as currently done) or a bank card provided to the bar or shop staff.
• 10% member’s bar discount is only available if paid for via your BRS Wallet.

Competition Purse

• Your Competition Purse can be found on the home page of your BRS website and/or on the BRS Golf app via the drop down menu (top righthand corner) under Competition Purse.
• Competition fees are debited automatically from this purse as soon as you book a tee time in a competition.
• Topping up your Purse is done via the App or website by pressing the “Top Up” button and following the instructions. Alternatively you can ask the bar or shop staff to add funds by cash or card.
• You will get an automatic reminder email when your Purse balance falls below £6.

Competitions

• Please continue to book tee times via the BRS Golf app as normal.
• For competitions, when you book a time for yourself and others (within the same tee time) the competition entry fee will be automatically debited from each competitor’s Purse. Should you then cancel the booking by 7 pm the night before the competition the entry fee will be refunded to the respective purse.
• The Competition Purse will become live for all competitions booked from Sunday 4 February. Competitions prior to that date will need to be paid for in the shop as you current do.
• Entry to 2s and Nearest the Pin will continue as they are done now.
• You will be unable to book a tee time in the competition if your Purse has insufficient funds to pay the competition entry fee.
• Scoring – the current touch screen TV in the club house will continue albeit with changed software. In addition you can use the BRS Golf app on your phone to enter your score by clicking the orange Golf Events and H.I. button on the home page.
