Karen Jobling reaches quarter-finals of English Senior Women’s Amateur Championship

Karen Jobling continued her good form by making the quarter-finals of the English Senior Women’s Amateur Championship.

Fresh from being crowned Yorkshire Veteran Ladies Golf Champion, Jobling headed to Enville Golf Club for the English Senior Women’s Amateur Championship and emerged from the 36-hole stroke play to make the knockout matchplay featuring the top 32 qualifiers.

Jobling need an extra hole to beat Aileen Greenfield of Pyemouth Golf Club in Round 1 of the matchplay and then overcame Lindsey Shaw by one hole in the Round of 16.

That set up a quarter-final with Caroline Berry, but the Bromborough Golf Club member won the tie 5&4 and eventually went out to win the title.

Well done to Karen, who will now play in the Northern Championship at Rotherham next week.
