About Aaron Cox
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all. My name is Aaron Cox and I am an Australian PGA Professional, I turned professional at 19 years of age when I entered my PGA Traineeship at Phillip Island Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia. Upon finishing my traineeship at the end of 2008 I took my first Head Professional role at the age of 26 at Caboolture Golf Club in Brisbane. After spending 3 years there I moved to Melbourne and became Head Professional at Gardiners Run Golf Course.
In January 2019, after spending some time in the south of England I moved to the north and started coaching at Blackwell Grange Golf Club. During my time in Darlington I have built a successful junior academy under the name of ACED Academy (Aaron Cox Elite Development). My ethos is to teach and guide any keen golfer who wants to improve their skills. This includes ladies groups and the Durham County Girls U14’s Squad.
In 2022 I was named England Golf Participation & Development Coach of the Year. This prestigious award was a great honour to have received and reinforced my passion for teaching and mentoring juniors. The Academy continues to grow in numbers each year and I am very proud of the progress I have made since being at the club.
I have a great passion for teaching and passing on knowledge to golfers about their games swings and techniques. I teach simple fundamentals that juniors and adults can easily understand and adapt to their individual games. I work hard with players and I enjoy seeing the results from my teaching however, it remains very important that they continue to enjoy golf in spite of the results. Here at Richmond I want to provide classes suitable for all players and ability levels as well as one to one lessons in an environment that is fun with lots of positive reinforcement.
I look forward to meeting all players that call Richmond golf club home as well as new visitors to the club. I will always be available for lessons, club fittings and answering questions that members may have pertaining to golf.
I also give members and players the opportunity to travel with their golf – offering coaching trips to Portugal, Spain and other areas of Europe. This has been very successful in my previous club and I run around 3 trips abroad each year.
