Graeme Storm Golf Academy launched at Richmond Golf Club
Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club is delighted to announce that two-time European Tour winner Graeme Storm will be launching the Graeme Storm Golf Academy at Richmond GC.
Graeme was born in Hartlepool and learnt his trade at Hartlepool Golf Club, where he still holds the course record of 62. He won the Amateur Championship in 1999 and was part of a winning Great Britain & Ireland team in the Walker Cup, holing the winning putt, before turning Professional in 2000.
He has gone on to have a highly successful career as a two-time winner on both the European Tour and Challenge Tour. Graeme won the Open de France at Le Golf National in Paris in 2007, beating a field including players such as 8 time Order of Merit No.1 Colin Montgomerie, then a decade later won the BMW South African Open beating current World No.1 and four time Major winner Rory McIlroy in an epic play-off.
Graeme has played in all 4 Majors numerous times (The Open, US Open, US PGA Championship & The Masters) and 2 WGC tournaments (Bridgestone & Doral) and was part of a winning Great Britain & Ireland Seve Trophy Team in 2007.
Chris Lamb, Chair of RGC said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Graeme is joining Richmond Golf Club. He will bring a significant presence to our Club and we’re sure his coaching skills will attract considerable interest from both our current membership and potential newcomers; so expect to see our players improving. His skills, knowledge and reputation are sure to raise the profile of our Club, now in its 128th Year, and acknowledged as one of the best courses in the region. His role as Ambassador for the Golf Foundation and his enthusiasm for junior golf will undoubtedly attract youngsters to our club. Saturdays will become a fantastic family day at Richmond.”
Graeme added: “It is with great pleasure for me to announce that I will be launching my very own Graeme Storm Golf Academy here at Richmond Golf Club. I see this as a new and exciting chapter in my golfing career and hope to be able to build on my good reputation as a European Tour Professional into also becoming an excellent coach. My passion has always been to grow the game I love at all levels and I believe I can deliver this very opportunity at Richmond GC whilst also continuing to play on the European Tour. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for the most up to date information about the Academy which will be opening soon!”
