Cross Country Challenge Results & Thanks

On a gloriously sunny afternoon 42 people took on the challenge of the Cross Country Competition in support of my charity (Rufus Wood – a community woodland being created as part of the 950 celebrations).

The £84 raised has taken the amount I have achieved so far to over £420 – 4 brand new oak trees plus a fair way towards a 5th, my goal for the year.

Personally I was rubbish, but there were some good scores in both the men’s and ladies groups.

Mike Dransfield won with 22 points, beating Bruce Tate on count-back with Martin Dolan in 3rd with 19.

Sheila Sadler won with 19 points, Chris Chambers was second with 18 and Tracey Clements 3rd with 17.

As is normal, these things don’t just happen so:

Thanks go to Martin Dolan who sorted out the course, Amy who produced the cards and rules sheets, Storm who took the money once I had gone to play, Maggie who collected the cards until I came in and served well earned drinks, the caterers who provided great burgers and lastly to all those who played and made the event a success.
