Club Captains’ Drive-In Brings In The New Season
Richmond Golf Club held its 2025 ‘Club Captains’ Drive-in for 2025 on Sunday 16th March.
The Drive-In is a traditional event held at most golf clubs across the country, normally held in January. However, due to the awful weather we have all had to endure, it was decided to hold this great event in March, when hopefully the weather would improve.
Although not warm and sunny, the day was quite calm and a great turnout of 100 players were there to wish our new Captains well for their forthcoming years in office.
Mary Pettit, Lady Captain for 2025 said: “It is a great honour to represent Richmond Golf Club and I’m really looking forward to my year when I also hope to raise funds for my favourite charity, which is Medical Detection Dogs.”
Brook Watson, Gents’ Captain for 2025 added: “Like Mary, this is a great honour for me, and I want to promote RGC in our region and beyond as one of the best golf courses in Yorkshire.”
The results for the competition were as follows :
- Ladies 1st Mel Albrighton, Mel Dickinson, Katharine Finkill & Susan Gardner
- Ladies 2nd Barbara Gregory, Barbara Willis, Susan Town & Andrea Offord
- Mixed 1st Brook Watson, Mary Pettit, Steve Willis & Mick Campbell
