Captain’s Newsletter January 2019

We had a great start to the festive period with over 90 members and guest attended the quiz on the 30th November, I cannot remember the club house being so busy, what a great night was had by all, I think the bar ran out of gin & wine, well done the ladies behind the bar and in the kitchen who also preformed amazingly, producing 50 meals in 50 minutes, thank you.

I had the honour to waiter on for the ladies Christmas dinner and I must thank Bruce Tate for looking after all the waiters, making sure we got the table orders right and I know the ladies had a great evening.

The Christmas & New Years Eve party were a great success, it great to see the club so busy and everyone having a great time. I cannot thank the members enough for turning up to help set up before the events and then returned the following day to clean it all away and as always the ladies behind bar and in the kitchen were brilliant, I don’t think I have seen so much food at the New Years Eve party, Again thank you all very much.

The captain’s drive in, what a brilliant day, thank you all for turning out to witness the official start of our captain’s year and I must thank my fellow captains for the great company and hope we all have a great year. I must say the weather was amazing I thought it was a spring day. I must also give a big thank you to Dan our club professional for my lesson on the Friday to get me using my driver, he should be very proud and I am very pleased with the results, I had a 226 yards drive down the fairway.

To maintain the clubs excellent reputation, when the club hosts opens and other event we will be looking for volunteers throughout the year and any help will be greatly appreciated. The first event that we may need your help will be the Winter Open on the 26th January, this will be subject to weather and players signing up to the event.
