Ian Mackay has kindly volunteered to run The Castle over the next 10 consecutive Tuesdays commencing 26/5/20.

Since we re-opened this week, many of us have managed to get one or two sets of 9 holes in and thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful course. What a great relief it is to be even playing a provisional!

Following the announcement from the Government on 11th May that certain restrictions in the COVID-19 lockdown will be relaxed, England Golf has agreed to a phased re-opening of golf courses under the banner of ‘Play Safe/Stay Safe’. The Board can confirm that our golf course will re-open on Wednesday 13th May with the following restrictions applied, in line with guidance from the R&A and England Golf. These rules must be followed until further notice is given by the Board.

Bunkered Magazine has run a very interesting article called “Today’s The Day To Save Your Club”, making some very valid points about the situation facing many clubs up and down the country.

The Board of RGC has closed the golf course with immediate effect, following the announcement of more stringent measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, made by the Prime Minister on 23rd March 2020.

The following policy changes at Richmond Golf Club are effective immediately.

John Simpson has landed an prestigious position after being appointed as the President of the Teesside Union of Golf Clubs for 2020/21.

Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club is seeking to recruit a PGA Head Professional to take personal responsibility for the professional delivery and development of all aspects of the golf operations and to ensure that member and guest expectations are consistently met or exceeded.

Captain’s Day will now take place on Sunday, 5th July after a change of dates from the published calendar of events.

A total of 68 players played in Winter Open 4 on Saturday, February 29th with Mike Murphy and David Fishburn winning with 41 points.

The Winter Open is still on as the course is open and will be played over 16 holes on Saturday 29th February.
